types of medicare coverage
Medicare Advantage (Part C)
MA plans, offered by private insurance companies, cover all Part A & Part B benefits. Most bundle Part D Rx coverage. MA plans also offer extras, such as vision & dental. Many have wellness benefits, such as gym memberships.
Medicare Supplement (Medigap)
These 11 Federal Standardized plans, offered by private insurance companies,
are secondary payers to Original Medicare, covering deductibles & coinsurance.
Prescription Drugs (Part D)
Part D plans cover prescriptions only. Offered by private insurance companies, they are in addition to Original Medicare, whether or not you choose a Medicare Supplement plan.
